Below is a collection of links
to helpful online resources for writing, editing, web work, and general
inspiration (what's been inspiring me lately). Note: All links open

The New York Times Magazine's "On
Language" Column: "On Language" has appeared in The
New York Times Magazine since 1979. The current columnist, Ben Zimmer,
answers a language-related question from a reader every other week; past
questions and answers are archived on this web page. (If you haven't
already, you'll need to register at the New York Times website to gain
access to these articles.)
Arts & Letters Daily: This website houses a
carefully culled collection of news, reviews, essays, and opinion pieces.

The photos are striking and inspiring, and they embrace the beauty of ordinary, everyday moments. Their previous online projects, 3191: A Year of Mornings and 3191: Evenings, were both transformed into lovely books.
Kate Spade:
"Classic elegance with a touch of wit." "Classic style
infused with a modern, slightly off-center sensibility." These words
describe Kate Spade's design philosophy, which is carried through her
website.
RealSimple:
Like its print companion, RealSimple
magazine, this website features great photography and helpful tips for
simplifying your life.
Epicurious:
The online home of Gourmet and Bon Appétit magazines,
this culinary website is one of the best sources for recipes—and all
things food-related—on the Internet.
Cupcake Bake Shop: There are few things that
brighten my day more than a cupcake. This blog is one of my favorite
sources for unique cupcake recipes.
101 Cookbooks:
This blog by vegetarian cookbook author and photographer Heidi Swanson is
my current favorite source for healthful yet inventive recipes. And the
photographs that accompany her recipes are simply gorgeous.
Orangette:
Great writing. Great recipes. Great photography.... This
"food-lit" blog by Molly Wizenberg will
likely inspire you in some way.

The website of the woman who elevated everyday housework and tedious chores
to an art offers information on everything from gardening and decorating to
cooking and baking. Love her or hate her, you're sure to find useful

pleasing—website.

some sort of balance in my life.
